As the name is self explanatory the place was built in order to commemorate the bravery and martyrdom of the warriors of pinkcity who laid their lives for the sake of the country. Located near Vidhan Sabha, this memorial is generally lit up with lights in the evenings and thus attracting people to spend their time here. Built up on a black marble pedestal, this flame can be seen and admired even from a distance. There is an upturned rifle enveloped by war head covering, bound by four vases. The four corners are lit up by torches that always burn and illuminate the whole place.

When was it built ?

It was created in the agitation of the ‘Liberation of Bangladesh’ in the year 1971. The key objective of establishing Amar Jawan Jyoti is to memorialize the Indian soldiers who died in order to protect the nation. Amar Jawan Jyoti was installed by the prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi in the year 1972.

This place is usually flocked by locals and tourists, as this structure is beautifully lit up during the evening, showcasing a brilliant transformation of one vivid colour into another. It looks beautiful, specially when you are viewing it from Vidhan Sabha.
