Asar is a short documentary by students of Manipal University Jaipur, throwing light on the economical changes in the life of the people of Dahmi Kalan after the establishment of Manipal University.
It features small interviews of people in and around the village whose life has been changed due to new opportunities that opened up as a result of the university.
Asar is filmed by Lokesh Somani, Mohit R. Dhanjani, Rahul Gupta, Ashreya Patial and Ajay Vikrant Singh Sambyal, who all are first year students of Journalism and Mass Communication (Manipal University Jaipur). The documentary was made under the guidance of Dr. Oinam Bedajit (Asst. Prof.) and produced by JMC department of the university.
Asar is an entirely “locally produced” documentary. The music features the local Algoza player, Bajrang Singh from the village and the rapper, Priyansh Chaturvedi (FatKrrent) from the university.
