Teej Festival

And, this is a significant tourism activity at the Teej festival, which is an experience of a lifetime for the travelers and photographers. Gangaur Festival

This festival also characterizes in reverence to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The word is formed from ‘Gan’ and ‘Gauri’ where Gan is another name of Lord Shiv while Gauri is used to address Goddess Parvati. On 30th March 2017, women of Jaipur will celebrate this festival similar to Teej. Through the old city of Jaipur, a mesmerizing procession of Goddess Parvati winds magnificently via Tripoliya Gate (City Palace) Tripoliya Bazar and Gangauri Bazar with chariots, decorated camels, dancing folk artists, brass bands, and royal palanquins for two days.

Kite Festival – Makar Sakranti in Jaipur

It is one of the festivals that eliminate all the boundaries between youth, kids, and elders. The interesting thing is that many tourists plan their Jaipur vacation in a way that it falls around Sankranti. On 14th January every year, a great blend of joy and religious observances, Sankranti is celebrated, and one can witness Kite Festival. In the month of February and March, Elephant festival also marks an important occasion in Jaipur yearly. This fantastic festival held on the full moon day of ‘Phalgun Purnima.’ Elephant polo and elephant dances are the highlights of this festival.

Beautiful bedecked elephants are taken out in a parade with all their glory, dressed in vibrant colors, anklets, and decorated saddlecloth, and colorful ‘gulaal’ or colored powder sprinkled from atop the elephants. Amongst the festivals of Jaipur, this festival is truly a sight for you to behold.
