How Jaipur looked 138 years ago.

As Rajasthan Day Celebration is kept on a huge scale, these pictures of Jaipur (138 years old) is being documented. It’s the 69th Rajasthan Day that has marked a very valuable shine in the history of Rajasthan. And so, Jaipur is celebrating the day very precisely.

The historical pictures are as follows:

Picture 1: The iconic Hawa Mahal or The palace of wind, built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The picture was taken in the year 1880.

Picture 3: Camel; the royalti of Rajasthan. The royal camel with his care taker were clicked in 1900.

Picture 4: The picture clicked in 1870-80 is of the girls studying in school. How the girls at that time used to study.

Picture 6: The picture taken in the year 1860 in which the Britishers are sitting on the elephants. Even in 19th century, Rajasthan was famous for its tourism.

Picture 7: Chandpole Gate, one from the famous seven gates of Jaipur. Right in the opposite of Chandpole Gate is Surajpole Gate. The picture is of the year 1907.

Picture 8: The picture is of the main market in the city of Jaipur taken in the year 1910.

Picture 9: Picture of the famous Jantar Mantar in Jaipur clicked in 1932. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh at 5 different places including Delhi, Jaipur, Ujjain, Mathura, Varanasi; Jaipur’s Jantar Mantar is the most huge amongst all.

Picture 10: Jaipur’s Albert Hall Museum used to look like this in the year 1900. The name of the Hall was kept in 1876, when Prince of Wales Albert Edmund visited Jaipur. By the year 1880 Maharaja Sawai Madhav Singh started the hall as an Industrial Art Museum.
