The Late Prof. Udai Pareek

Dr. Udai Pareek, former Professor of IIM(A) was Chairman of the HR Labs of EMPI, New Delhi and Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Jaipur, India. An Advisor to numerous National and International Organisations, he was the only Asian to become Fellow of the National Training Laboratories (NTL), and the only Fellow from India of the Society for the Study of Social Issues (SPSSI). He was an internationally acclaimed
academician who sowed the seeds of HRD in India and gave new dimensions to HR and OB discipline in the terms of HRD integrated system. He had authored/edited about 50 books and more than 350 papers and made presentation at national & international fora and had been given several national awards.

GUEST SPEAKER : Dr. Mrityunjay Balasundaram Athreya

Dr. Mrityunjay B. Athreya has been a founder and pioneer of the Indian Management Movement.
Recognising India ’s institutional strengths in Democracy, Civil Service and Judiciary, he chose early the missing element of Professional Management, for economic growth, as his Life Mission.
After qualification and experience as a Management Accountant, in Calcutta, he went to Stanford and Harvard Business School to learn Management. He returned promptly to India, as his Karmabhoomi, and joined the HM, Kolkata. Since 1978, he has made himself available as an independent national management resource person, to the exploding Indian management education sector; industry associations; apex business chambers; professional institutes; government; NGOs; and civil society. He has been Chairman and member of several government committees, formulating reform policies for many sectors. The most well-known is the Athreya Committee on Indian Telecom Restructuring, 1991, leading to the Cellular and Digital revolutions of today. Dr. Athreya has also blended Indian spiritual wisdom, of the Upanishads and the Gita, with modern management. He has been elected Fellow of several professional bodies, including the National HRD Network. He has worked closely with Dr. Udai Pareek in several projects of Training, OD and HRD in Indian Airlines, SBI,
etc. For his sustained contributions, the government of India conferred the Padma Bhushan on him, in 2014.
