Jaipur Airport To Receive 1593 Stranded Indians From May 22

The concerned authorities at the Jaipur airport are all set for May 22 when stuck Indians from foreign countries will start landing in Jaipur. About 13 flights as per the schedule released on May 15 that shall be operated at the airport from various countries ( London, Toronto, Kazakhstan, Manila and other) via Delhi and Ahmedabad. In order to evolve the SOPs to handle the flight operations the authorities of Jaipur airport are in touch with the state government. 

The authorities from the airport laid out certain guidelines in the wake of the pandemic. So every passenger will be required to undergo proper screening by the authorities of the state medical and health department. According to a senior officer at the airport, “Out of these people many would be sent to the quarantine facilities either in Jaipur or to their respective districts.” 

The director of Pinkcity’s airport, Jaideep Singh Balhara revealed the details of the upcoming flights and the passengers said, “ We are expecting arrival of 1593 passengers by 13 different flights that will start coming to Jaipur from May, 22 onwards. These special flights would be coming from the countries including Philippines, United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Canada, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Russia.”

Furthermore, he added the details of the first upcoming flights i.e from the Philippines (about 243 passengers) will arrive at 12:30 am. “We are in touch with the state government to evolve various SOPs including proper sanitization, thermal screening and health check ups of the passengers arriving at Jaipur.”

The NRI through their ways and means were in touch with the Indian government for the much needed evacuation. Prem Bhandari, USA Chairman of Jaipur foot has been writing to the Indian government about the issue of the stranded Indians. “I have been in touch with the union foreign secretary Harvardhan Shringla and union civil aviation secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola. On behalf of non-resident Indians I express my gratitude with their decision to facilitate these flights. Everyday I am getting calls from stranded Indians from all across the globe including students and professionals,” said Bhandari, USA Chairman of Jaipur foot told TOI over phone from New York.
