Places that are wrapped in the influence of God are far more beautiful than any destination to ascertain you the peace of all time. And, Jaipur is blessed with such places in that series. The capital of Rajasthan is not only known for its royal culture and rich aesthetic heritages but also for temples, gardens, and outside city getaways. And, one such place that is enclosed in the region of Pink City is “Kanak Vrindavan.” A garden in Jaipur built in a valley surrounded by the hills of Aravali and is situated on the Amer fort way at the bottom of Nahargarh Hill.
Kanak Vrindavan is located at approx 8 km north of the Jaipur City, this garden’s complex has many tourist attractions that are Amer Fort Palace, Jaigarh Fort, and Nahargarh Fort along with lush of greenery. Approximately 275 years ago, Kachchwaha Rajput, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh of Jaipur, coined the garden. He constructed this place so that both Maharaja and Maharani can spend quality time and get the rejuvenated in the scenic beauty of the backyard.
Tale Behind the Name
It includes term ‘Vrindavan’ as the garden resembles the descriptions of the place, where Lord Sri Krishna had performed Raasleela near Mathura, and word Kanak originated from the name of Maharaja’s one of the queen Maharani Kanakde. This place is identical to the valley of Vrindavan, and the Maharaja consecrated a statue of Shri Krishna in a temple in the KanakVrindavan Valley popularly called as ShriGovindDeojiParisar.
The architecture of Garden
The KanakVrindavan Garden is a fantastic construction and chosen spot located in the Nahargarh hills valley with unique plantation of trees. It is full of small lawns and lanes, decorated with intricate ‘chhatris,’ exquisite Jali and mirror work on the walls of the GovindDeoji Temple, along with a beautiful series of fountains. The central garden is divided into eight sections and is having a main fountain called ‘Parikrama,’ carved out of a single marble slab. Temple Garbha Griha is also placed inside the compound of the temple and is decorated with delicate ‘panni’ work. The garden is green in every season and offers an excellent view of Jaipur from the valley. Other nearby attractions mainly Amer Fort, Dharbawati River, JalMahal, Elephant Park, Jaigarh Fort, and Nahargarh Fort can also be seen through it. The scenery has been used many times in many Bollywood films, such as Lamhe (1991).
Apart from all this, Kanak Vrindavan is the ideal spot holding the spiritual significance with the romantic vibes.
