More than 1,000 security personnel in Jaipur for upcoming LS polls

The state capital Jaipur consists around 1,163 critical and sensitive polling stations in the areas of Jaipur and Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituencies. The district administration is bringing in more than 1,000 paramilitary personnel for security purposes during the polls which are scheduled in May.

More than 40.79 lakh voters are going to exercise their power to elect their representative in Jaipur district on May 6, with a rise of 58,174 voters in the district since the publication of final roll on February 22.

“Each assembly constituency in Jaipur would be provided around 50-60 paramilitary personnel. There would be approximately 1,000 security personnel in the district,” said district collector and election officer Jagroop Singh Yadav.

“Webcasting and videography would be done in all the sensitive and vulnerable polling booths. Micro observers or central forces would also be deputed in these booths,” he added.

There are more than 19.52 lakh voters in the Jaipur Rural, while in Jaipur constituency, there are around 21.27 lakh voters. There are 488 sensitive booths in Jaipur Rural and 675 in the capital. There are 1,873 polling stations in Jaipur, while 2,025 stations in Jaipur Rural.

The total number of electors in Jaipur as per the final roll published on February 22 is 40.21 lakh.
