Today, Rajasthan State Assemble passes a controversial reservation bill that increases the reservation for the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the state from 21 to 26 percent.
The total reservation quota in Rajasthan now stands at 54 percent, a violation of the upper limit of 50 percent set by the Supreme Court.
The backward classes bill was passsed today in the state assembly is meant to provide reservation to five castes namely:
1. Gujjar
2. Banjara
3. Gadiya Lohar
4. Rebari
5. Gadariya
