Everyone of us has been through the circles of Jaipur for like 1000 of times but never really thought of the significance these have behind them. Lets have a read and gain some knowledge about these circle.
1. Statue circle-

Situated in the middle of a busy intersecting road of the pink city, Statue Circle is reminiscent of the rich history of Jaipur. It was built as a tribute to Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of the city. Statue Circle perhaps got its name from the statue that it comprises of and also the spot at which statue is located. Statue Circle encompasses a life size statue of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, made of white marble. As the Maharaja was known to be an ardent lover of astrology, the statue circle illustrates the king holding an astrological diagram. This memorial is beautifully decorated with brilliant lightings and multi-colored fountains which illuminate the place in the evenings.
2. Jawahar Circle

Jawahar Circle is claimed by Locals to be the biggest circular park in Asia developed on a highway traffic circle. It is situated along Malviya Nagar near Sanganer Airport on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. The diameter of the circle is 452 m and the circumference measures 1420 m. This park was fully developed by JDA (Jaipur Development Authority), and is one of Jaipur’s favorite leisure places. There are multiple concentric tracks in the park. It is surrounded by Rose Gardens. A number of attractive features like musical fountains, modern play equipments, jogging tracks are being added to it. JDA has spent 170 lacs for the development of this circle. A fact worth appreciating here is that Rajasthan is a desert state & to maintain such big gardens & fountains with drinking water would be foolhardy so the government is using re-cycled water which though safe for the garden.
3. Trimurti Circle

Just as the name says, trimurti circle was built in the memory of the policemans who died for the country in Ladakh.Statue of three policemen is placed on the circle and also, the circle is marked as a tribute for them. The history and the sacrifice of the policemen is written under each statue which is an important part of the circle. Also, every year an event is organised at the circle to pay tribute to these soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country’s welfare.
4. Gandhi Circle-

Gandhi Circle is located on Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg has a huge statue of Mahatma Gandhi. The circle enlighten the city with its charm and glory. The circle was built in the memory of great Freedom Fighter Mahatma Gandhi and is decorated with flowers and light to keep the circle a big highlight of the city. Anyone would have a feel of patriotism because of the aura created at the circle.
5. Ambedkar Circle

The circle is named in the memory of B.R Ambedkar who fought for the rights of Dalit and Harijans and made reservations for them. The caste system is stretched till date and is honoured in the name of Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The circle is incomplete without the greenery and lights and so JDA has maintained the circle really well for the sake of its citizens to have a great view of Vidhan Sabha.
