The Cartist Festival is going to start in Hotel Clarks Amer from today. During the festival, Cartist will present a huge painting saying “We Love Jaipur” as a token of gratitude towards Jaipur, which will later be installed at one of the prime locations of the city. Along with this, many other art events will be organized for the next four days, which include activities like live artwork sessions, art workshops, art sessions, art exhibitions, musical evenings and activities inviting the participation of the Jaipurites.
This is the fourth edition of Cartist’s annual Automobile Festival and this time the music will be included in the festival. Gazi Khan and Kalbelia dance form’s famous artist Gulabo will be present to revive the spirits of the music culture of Rajasthan at the festival’s first musical evening. Cartist will give chance to local bands as well. Each day, one local band will perform so that a platform is given to the aspiring artists of Jaipur. In today’s musical night, Kashish Band will perform live.
Taking the journey of automobile art forward, in its fourth year, they are committed to providing students/people with a platform to learn, explore and create art. For this, they would covert numerous car bonnets into art installations to be achieved for the first time ever in the history of the art and automobile world. With this, there will be Cartist Kala Kendra representing the best of automobile artworks from various cities covered during the Cartist Yatra. The layout is being specifically designed and divided into seven different zones where activities like live artwork making on automobile theme involving artists from across the country, Art sessions and workshops by some of the prominent artists and design houses, Art exhibitions exhibiting paintings, sculptures and Cultural and musical nights and unique fashion shows will be going on simultaneously. Cartist is also coming up with “Meri Beti Mera Maan, Meri Gaadi Mera Abhimaan” to uplift the interests of the women of the country and give them an opportunity to fly in the sky of endless happiness by way of art. Also, Cartist is going to paint few cars belonging to women as well as the cars belonging to people from different walks of life as an ode to the majestic world of art. A special zone for “Mai Bhi Cartist” is going to be there for which one doesn’t require to be a professional artist to participate in the artwork making but only the passion towards art and automobile would do the magic. Interested candidates would be allotted with the canvas and materials required on which they can depict their love for art.
The artistic joy would be pulled forward in the lives of the common man by putting the art on display in the form of solo exhibitions during the event. For this, artists would be traveling from all over India to demonstrate their artwork. Along with this, there would be more than 15 free workshops in all including varied forms of art; Calligraphy, Pottery, Street Art, Clay Modelling, Tribal Art, Sketching, Caricature, Photography, Wood Art, Mono Print and several others on all 4 days. This can be seen as a unique opportunity not only for the viewpoint of participation but also from the learning perspective. Students from various backgrounds can come together to explore art along with discovering the one which interests them.
“In this four days long event of art and automobile, Artists would be spreading colors, breaking the stereotype to paint on canvas by painting on the cars and parts live and giving them the never seen before with a gist of joy. With this, we are keen to bring the concept of automobile art in the display,” says Himanshu Jangid of Cartist.
Along with the creation of art on the cars, prominent artists from all over India would be coming to impart various creative workshops and art sessions on different forms of art. There would be artists presenting the unique form of Container art, Scooter Painting, Art Installations, Sculpture Painting, Heritage art, live painting on canvas and several others. With this, the aim is to preserve the traditional art and touching it with the new air of modernity, creating a feeling of sensitivity among the youth of Jaipur towards its rich culture and heritage. This would enable to bring art closer in the lives of people and developing a feeling of joy around the city.
